Breaking News: Govt Increases Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan

Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan: In a recent development, the Government of Pakistan has officially announced a revision in petrol and diesel prices, effective from November 1 to November 15, 2025. The decision comes following the global fluctuation in crude oil rates and adjustments in exchange rates over the past two weeks.
According to sources from the Ministry of Finance, the new prices will remain in effect till mid-November, after which a new review will be conducted depending on international oil market trends.
Revised Fuel Prices in Pakistan (Effective: 1–15 November 2025)
| Fuel Type | Old Price (PKR/Litre) | New Price (PKR/Litre) | Increase (PKR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol | 283.38 | 295.00 | +11.62 |
| High-Speed Diesel (HSD) | 289.16 | 300.00 | +10.84 |
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) forwarded the summary for price changes to the government, suggesting an upward adjustment due to the rising import premium and higher international prices of petroleum products.
Reasons Behind the Hike
Officials noted that the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar and an increase in freight and refining costs were the main reasons for the latest increase. The government has emphasised that efforts are being made to stabilise prices and minimise the burden on consumers through targeted subsidies and better import management.
Next Review Expected
The next fuel price revision will be announced on November 16, 2025, based on the latest oil market updates and OGRA recommendations.
“The adjustment was necessary to align domestic prices with international trends,” said an official from the Petroleum Division.
As fuel prices rise once again, transporters, daily commuters, and logistics operators are likely to feel the immediate impact, with expectations of a minor increase in transport fares and commodity prices in the coming days.
