Punjab Boards Release Reduced Syllabus for Matric 2025 Exams: The Punjab School Education Department (SED) has officially announced a reduced syllabus for Classes 9th and 10th for the Annual Board Exams 2025.
This decision aims to ease academic pressure on students and align the syllabus with the new Single National Curriculum (SNC) framework across Punjab.
According to the latest notification, all Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) will follow the new, shortened syllabus from March 2025 onward.
The Education Boards received several requests from schools and teachers about the heavy syllabus load after the pandemic and curriculum updates. To balance academic expectations and ensure fair preparation time, the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) has finalized a revised syllabus focusing only on core chapters and exam-relevant topics.
“The goal is to help students focus on conceptual learning, not rote memorization,” — an official from PCTB said.
